Description:

Clean Drinking Water is a basic necessity of life.    Supply of clean drinking water in the rural areas has always been one of the highest priorities of people.  Lack of water and unclean water leads to several diseases that affect children, women and aged specially.  The purchase power is also deprived due to scarcity of water.  Water is the essential need to maintain sanitation and hygiene.  During the survey the team of SPREAWS identified several problems facing by the people particularly the women and children.  In summer season, the rural women have to walk for long distance to fetch water to bring water from open wells.

With a view to solve the drinking water problem SPREAWS implemented the above mentioned project.  Under this programme we have repaired 5 non-functioning bores in 5 villages.  And we have installed 15 new drinking water bores in 15 villages of Kadapa District.  650 families were benefited through this project by getting safe drinking water from our hand pump bores.
