 Main Aims of the project:

 1) To provide self-employment scheme of “Bamboos Baskets weaving” to the poorest teen-age girls   so that they can support themselves as well as their families and thus eradicate their poverty.

2) To improve the living standards of the poorest  teen-age girls in all respects  which may help them

BRIEF DESCRIPTION:

50 teen-age girls of 5 villages were formed as 5 Self-Help Groups (SHGs) @ 10 women in each group.  One of the volunteer from our organization who known the subject of bamboo Products making conducted training to these 50 girls for a period of 1 month.  The training focused on new designs, latest models, patterns and new developments in the basket weaving, Bamboo dust pans, bamboo grates.  After completion of training we have distributed the following materials to these 5 Self Help Groups (50 girls); Bamboo sticks, Different types of knives big and small and sharpeners and cutters, various colours, brushes and other necessary tools.    Then these 5 SHGs girls collectively involved in all stages of bamboo products on group system.  The bamboo products viz., bamboo baskets, Bamboo dust pans, bamboo grates, bamboo bins, etc.,  The prepared bamboo products will be sold on  retail and wholesale basis, which method gives highest remuneration to the group members.  There is good demand for bamboo products.  It is easy to sell the same.  These poor girls will become self-sufficient with their improved earnings.
