Main Aims of the project:
a) To eradicate extreme poverty among the tribal women & men for their survival and for their ability of sustainability at grass root level. (Millennium Development Goal:1)
b) To teach and improve literacy, numeracy, arithmetic, ability to sign, read, write, understand, learn and memorize etc., to the tribal women, men and girls,
c) To impart early childhood education among the tribal children,(MDG # 2)
d) To form Self-Help Groups and to improve Thrift and Credit schemes, Leadership Training community service Training etc.,
Brief project description:
We have motivated the women and men from tribal areas and formed 4 Self Help Groups with 15 persons for each group. We have provided skill upgradation training to this target group (i.e., 45 women and 15 men totally 60) in making brooms and bamboo baskets for a period of 15 days. After training period we have provided them with raw materials and required equipments. Now these women & men are working on co-operative basis and producing the brooms and baskets and selling and earning good income. These target group women and men are involving in savings activity also. We are also conducting education classes to the tribal children and target group women. We also were conducting Health Awareness camps in the two target villages.
This programme is now going on successfully.
